Master of Puppets is still one of the best albums ever made.
But yeah...teh suck.

  Absolutely! I got that Album first along with 'ride the lightning' discovered F'em All which blew me away completely. by the time they did 'And Justice For All' it was just w*nking off. they temporarily revived themselves on the Black album, but have always been in danger of self narcissistic indulgence. i.e. as pretentious as my last comment

they had some awesome and I mean AWESOME stuff back in the day...but you have gone from "worshipping the devil" to suing your fans...you suck.

I'll admit, never a huge fan, but Kill 'em all, and Master... were all good albums, but when they started playing them on the radio a lot, and the albums that followed....
Well, followed the herd.
Something happens when your music is adopted by the NFL and other entities. Money's not always good, and never to artists

I can forgive them for selling out at the time and starting to make grunge records, they were a dying breed...but the Napster thing is unforgivable...even if I had all the money in the world I would still insist on downloading Metallica stuff just to make a point.

I vote for "Rocked hard in the past, currently very full of huge amounts of suckage."
The key was Cliff. When he died, so did the amazing orchestral metal arrangements. And Justice for All was the last record that had any of Cliff's arrangements on it, and it was the last truly great Metallica album. All they had left over for the black album were some ideas and snippets Cliff recorded before he died. hence half the album sucking. Load and Reload were like travesties of justice, and St. Anger might be the worst metal album of all time.

  I wanted to kill myself after listening to St. Anger. . . The only "rocking" thing about that album was the video they did in that prison (which name escapes me at the moment), and that only rocked because I would have never gone near the place.
  On a side note, the video in the prison would have been much better had they played for inmates convicted of "file sharing" crimes ^_^

I have been saying that they suck since 1998~~!
There Lyrics suck and their "Im a man" Persona is gay and they by they way sued their own fans for downloading music.
if you still like them, litsen to something better they suck

~E! I thought the bad had passed alonG time ago!~ ((4realz, I never have like this band, )) Not Wanted-"Dead or Alive"..((smiles))..MaY they R.I.P. All hair, and no music, The Music is whats in a band, metalica always "Sucked" the big One.. SorrY anY fans of them, but am being truthfull...
