"I'm telling Dave, 'Dude, get your ass up here and sing, bitch! Come on!'" Eddie told Guitar World. "As it stands right now, the ball is in Dave's court. Whether he wants to rise to the ocassion is entirely up to him, but we're ready to go."

this is the best news Ive heard in years.

Ive seen VH with everyone and their brother, except dave.

I saw dave last year and he rocked.

I cant wait to see them reunited.

Who cares if the same old problems come up. As long as they make it to Florida.

    Wolfgang for prez.

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! I LOVE Van Halen! David has been singing their songs, blue grass style (which I don't care for). Man I hope he goes back! If they go on tour, I am so going to see them in concert!

from someone who saw the original line up several times, Dave is the man, he is a bit of an ass, blended with Eddies my shiet don't stink attitude is a recipe for disaster, but Sammy was a close second at best. What happened to the bass dude, he was cool, and was the spot opened or was did it become available.

just found it, Michael Anthony would only have been allowed to play the reunion tour if he signed a reduced royalties contract. Eddie and his brother are relentless when it comes to makeing all the money, just ask Sammy, I think Dave should tell the pompuss asses to ****** off.

first concert I saw (aside from Johnny Cash as a kid in '77) was the '1984' show. My voice was gone for most of that week.

When Hagar joined, I stopped buying their albums. They just didn't work for me anymore, either of them (hagar or halen). I've always prefered the looser, freer style of the first line-up to the more produced sound of the latter. Not that I don't like Hagar! No, definately not! I just like Hagar solo...for some reason, he's a helluva lot better on his own.

Now, (and no offense to Brian Johnson) if we could just find a way to resurrect Bon Scott for those same very reasons (a looser, freer, more drunken sound)

I suggest that Jessee Jackson would be the right choice for VH's next singer, why? Because nobody can't ever f*** with him, but if whoever would, there will be a BOYCOTT!

Bring back M Anthony and Sammy and some Tequilla.... VH is dead. Please stay there. I dont want my fond memeories to be destroyed by a weak-ass bass player (3 mos) 1-5-3-5-1-3-5 -VH baselines werent ALL that difficult.

                  VH stay away PLEASE!!!!!

Aerosmith still rocks and awaiting Paul Rogers/Queen in the US

I saw Van Halen's very 1st national tour. Opening for Black Sabbath. David Lee Roth was incredible, no arrogance, just pure blues showman. Eddie wouldn't come out from behind his Marshall stack he was so shy, but he was dropping sonic bombshells all night. An unreal show, you could see their full potential.

Then saw them in a festival at the Superdome like two years later, the exact opposite, Dave was a drunken jerk and Eddie was out front wailing, very incoherent set. Then years later I met Alex and Eddie as a guest of the VHIII Tour with Gary Cherone. They were both rude to pretty much everyone around them. Always wanted to meet Eddie but it was a disappointment. Maybe just a bad day but I heard other stories about dealing with them.

They pretty much crapped on Dave the last time around. As weird as he looks now and as poor as his solo sales have been (anybody hear his bluegrass album?) he still might go for this.

I used to be a huge Eddie Van Halen fan. I play guitar so in high school it was natural for me to emulate him. I saw Van Hagar perform on the Monsters of Rock tour and it was here that I'd spent a few hours inching my way forward, just so I could be near Eddie when he solo'd. I finally made it to within 30 feet or so...right when his solo started. Good times.

That being said, Eddie has lost me as a fan over the years and this latest attempt at a "reunion" only comes across as a pathetic attempt on his part, to make himself significant again. Feh...

Dave, Rock & Roll history will forever recognize your voice as one of Rock's all time greatest. Teamed with Van Halen, the band's hits still play "true". If you come back, and I hope you do, please be sure the quality of your voice contributes to your legend. Everyone expects any "comeback artist" to rely soley on their past. Please do not bring only your over-the-top bravado to the stage, but a well tuned instrument (your voice) as well.

Van Halen was never the same after Roth left. Van Hagar sucked! At this point it's a decade (or two) late and a dollar short for Eddie to come to his senses. Ive had to listen to him complain about his hip, his tongue, and his PMS cramps for way too long. He couldnt stand being upstaged by his front man so he acted like a little beyotch. Screw Eddie.

                              I'm over it...

Yeah, I have to agree no one worked the stage like Dave. With Eddie's blazing licks and riffs and Dave on vocals they were one of the best harmonizing bands in history, of course that's just my opinion. Can't wait to see what happens....

Isn't Eddie like on his deathbed ? I heard he had cancer. It would be a great reunion, though, if Dave can keep his mouth shut and sing.

If there is one thing that I have come to learn over the last 25 years of being VH fan is that DLR is not the problem. EVH and his enormous ego are the problem. He not only doesn't like Dave and Sammy and Gary Cherone but has also turned on Michael Anthony? Who is more harmless than Michael Anthony? Yeah Dave (when he is doing his Dave act) is annoying but that is Dave. EVH is so warped he thinks he cured cancer. This comes from a guy who worshipped EVH as a kid. Why don't we have DVD's on the market from the original lineup's concerts? They certianly have filmed many shows between 1978 and 1984. It is because Eddie wants to control everything. Even the way the fans remember the band. A live DVD set would sell millions of copies so why aren't they out there? Why do I have to watch Sammy and his merry band of cheesy waboritas doing new Van Halen stuff on HD Network? Because EVH thinks HE IS VAN HALEN all by himself. Alex won't tell him any different, he'd be kicked out too.
