This "old attitude" reflects the low quality of rock.
The Man, Frank Sinatra, in tux, 80 years old, tickets were impossible to get.
I'm a rock drummer getting passed over for younger less talented turks... That is the way of the rock world.

Wow! He's gotten old...then again, so have I...it's weird when they step away from the camera for a bit and then suddenly show back up again...I guess you aren't going to see the person you remember..

Looks like Dave's gonna get stung again...
His, Eat Em and Smile Album was his answer to their origional seperation. And it answered.
Dave's problem is he just can't get the glitter fix his massive ego craves without the VH tag and that's sad.

sources report that no one is interested and nobody cares....I remember the 80s I was there. A band based on youthful hedonism maybe belongs in the 80s....I hear they can both still play or rather Van Halen can still play. If they make some decent CDS I might buy em...but who wants to see them in concert......

Hey as long as Dave doesnt try and act young and kick over his head and hurt himself,,,, I hope they do well but from how it's gone in the past the egos will get in the way,,,, it's called the VH band not the Roth Band that's always been the rub,,, rock on guys I wish you well old fellers

I remember the boys from the 70's with the original line up, that was great, this is a weak attempt by eddie to put some coin in his pocket, diamond dave should hook up with michael anthony and hagar and play, all the dissed guys from vh, leaving eddie and the unamed brother and wolfy to play at the holiday inn

Could be a move to plug back into the 'good ol' days' of rock and roll and make some ez bucks touring, have drunken orgies and just be plain ol' buzzed and bizarre (will they get medicad or SSI benefits if they need 'meds') . Also the soap opera value of the group has gone up again. BTW where are the new artists at these days? Have they Indied out on Emo and angst to the point they can't get primal and rock. Oh no.... believe it or not I just heard that Prince is doing the SuperBowl.....geez... I think I'll go watch a zombie movie; Night of the Living Dead I think. '...click bang what a hang your daddy just shot poor me....' peace all.

some of Van Halens best music came from the Roth era(yes Im old enough to know, i was also there) but davids solo albums and his ego have ruined alot of the fans respect for him. I agree, Van Halen isnt Van Halen w/o Michael Anthony. His backing vocals made Van Halens sound what it was. The loss of him and the addition of Daves psychosis pretty much ensure the new(old) Van Halens failure. As far as Wolfgang goes, how could Eddie even consider it. He needs to start his son in a fitness program and by the time hes in shape enough to handle going on tour, he should be old enough to be out of school and can handle the physical stress of the shows

Um, I disagree evolute. Van Halen is a lot better than some of todays rock bands. The singers all sound the same and the guitarist can only play power chords. Eddie Vanhalen has to be considered one of the greatest guitarists of any genre. I don't have a preference as to whether Dave is better than Sammy or vice versa. The main difference is when Dave was in the band,Michael Anthony's bass playing was more up front. You get a better sense of how talented he is. No offense to Eddie's son,but I hope Mike comes back. I also hope the band get's along and is able to make an album or two. I hope this works out because,in spite of age,VanHalen still has some juice in the tank. They just need to relax and have fun playing together.Check the egos at the door.Forget the past and just go out there and kick a ss!
