Such a great song. Have been dealing with an ailing friend and these lyrics describe so well the feelings such an event brings. I read a review by some stuffy rock critic who described this song as "pretentious", that is an utterly ridiculous comment. Purely snobbish. The first time I heard these lyrics I immediately connected with them. That is the sign of a great song. And certainly no one can say Chris Martin is not passionate about his craft.
Nice call here Ricky. Would also highly recommend Keane, have been listening to a live disc of theirs recently. Much the same depth of emotion especially on songs like Bad Dream and Try Again.
