Oh yeah! I saw them at the pier on the West side when they opened up for Carlos Santana. The Wilson sister's (Nancy and Anne) were talented and hot!

    Hey Greenmac:

Unfortunately the idiot box I use during the week is a p2 dinosaur without a sound card.

It lives in between 2 chopsaws and under a constantly shifting lumber rack.

I am typing on a rubber keyboard and the characters appear on the screen with a delay.

I usually do not vote on a story without first reading it.

I think the box would smoke if I clicked view story.

    But I love Nancy Wilson!

    Thoughts and urban myths:

Thought: about the record industry and their lack of Heart when such a great singer gained weight and no longer fit the image of a sexy girl rock band.

Urban legend: It was batted about that the song "Magic man" was about Charles Manson.

I bought their reunion DVD...yes they have changed physically, as have a lot of us..LOL...but they can still sing....a good group. The record industry can be cruel when it comes to appearance.... Mama Cass didn't fit the industry norm but she showed them.

Some fine videos here Fly....check them out later.

Yeah fly you are right about how the record industry treated Ann. It never bothered me that she was putting on weight, since it never affected her vocals. She is still and amazing singer. And Nancy can still play the guitar.

Still great music after all this time.

      OH, that was a goodie.

I saw them in a concert on tv recently, and they can still belt it out as good as they did back then.

Being from the pacific northwest---I was lucky enough watch Heart on stage and dance to their music before they became very famous. They played all over Seattle but I remember them best at a huge club on hgwy 99 called Parkers Ballroom/The Aquarius Tavern.

I remember the first time I heard this song. The guitar(s)parts and 'licks' really just left me floored (I became a real fan of the long slow hand vibrato that had teeth and soul). I still think today that is some of the best work I ever heard form any rock band. Nice to see that it worked live as good if not better than on the old 33.3 rpm disk.

Then after I got over the music and finally heard the words I was a fan of the Wilson ladies forever.

How can anyone beat......"you don't have to love me and let's get high awhile".... as a metaphor for slow and passionate seduction.

IMHO The song Magic Man, as music and metaphor, is a super-classic & will never go out of style.
