OK greenmac. I was ready to start my afternoon and decided to watch your Footloose video. Now my Sunday shoes are kicked off and I put a run in my support hosiery while attempting the knee slide across the floor. Please Louise, warn a grandma before you break out that dreamy Kevin Bacon.

In our town we had a youth group, which basically was supported by the local legion, When I heard this song I went right back to a place that had pin ball machines, pool tables, noisy teens and loud music and this song was one that was played over and over. I asked my wife if she remembered the song and all I got was a silly grin so we won't get into that. Thanks greenmac this brings back alot of memories of a great time.

The two British groups I thought produced the most consistent quality were the Hollies and Gerry and the Pacemakers. The Hollies' signature song was "Bus Stop," but this one really sounds like they had connected with Chuck Berry.

My brother used to sing that to my mom- she sure looked hot back in the 70's with her long, black gowns when there were reasons to wear them. She passed away in 1980.
Great song!

They took the name "The Hollies" from Buddy Holly, he was a big influence on that group.

The Hollies, in my opinion never got the credit they had coming for many of their songs. Like "Chevydog" said, they were somewhat overlooked.
Great group, great song, great post.
Thanks, GM.

How many guitarists have been taught that intro after first mastering "The House of the Rising Sun"?
