As some of you know Birddog54 was brutally erased from propeller on Friday under a trumped up TOU charge. His main offense was being the first to comment on another member's story about certain posters being targeted here, and it angered the "outlaw scout" mentioned in the thread. BD did not call him by name, but did comment the acts in question were scum. Friday he was ambushed, but I am happy to report he is alive and well.
BD will be contacting James Marcus first thing Monday. Rumor has it that BD is accused of using two words: "pinhead" and "moron" once. When you Google those words with propeller you come up with hundreds of instances by liberal posters and none of them are banned.

CA:
Thats powerful.
I think what none of the music or video's can convey though is the utter despair one felt.
I mean personally I was so sure I was going to die that I hadn't made plans for coming home. When I took my R&R I lived like there was no tomorrow.
When I got short I hated every duty because I knew they were going to get me killed. When I came down with an infection with ten days left. I thought great now they are going to amputate my arm. I was wrong.
When I came home to the greatest country ever it was like I'd had a death sentence lifted from me. I can still feel that noose being taken off my neck.
I know some of you out there know what I mean.
Welcome home brothers.

I could not understand what he was saying, so I looked up the lyrics to the song. In case anyone else would like to read them, they are as follows ...Debra:
Mark Knopfler - Brothers in Arms
These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Some day you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn
To be brothers in arms
Through these fields of destruction
Baptisms of fire
I've witnessed your suffering
As the battles raged higher
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms
There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones
Now the sun's gone to hell
And the moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line on your palm
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

Thanks Debra, the words were a little hard to understand, but the music and feel were still beautiful. I looked up the lyrics too after the first time BD played it for me.
Here is another version of Brothers in Arms that Birddog found of Knopfler (Dire Straits) when he was much younger, and with a beautiful electric guitar:

Thanks CA:
Good one birddog.
Yeah we went thru it. We should not hate or discredit our fellow vets. For there is one thing all who served in country know. That is the sorrow of losing someone you knew. I still won't desert them.
Till we meet in heaven brothers.

I didn't agree with BD too much; but there's no friggin' way this can be legit!!! It is a Charley-Foxtrot from the word 'go'...Sure he didn't agree with me much; but he always seemed to be totally respectful of others...I've heard WORSE than 'Moron and Pinhead' from both sides!!!
Cactus Annie; it is reprehensible to turn this into a partisan smear!!!
In the Navy, I learned that the unwritten motto of the USN is "We take care of our own"...
To me; it's still words to live by!!!
So, how can we help BD???
Let's spread the word...if BDs appeal fails, we start a IM campaign to get our Bro re-instated!!!
Anybody with this ol' squid???

I with ya bro. AlphaGnosis, you are correct in your assessment of BirdDog. The majority of his comments were short and usually were just saying that he agreed with something someone else said. When I heard he was banned, all I could think was Why?, why him? Of all people, why would the least contraversial member be banned?

Heck I've used those terms myself. Never meant 'em to be personal. Just a way of saying what I thought of the the thought process is all.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot because it was so many years ago and I've had so many women since then.
For all you fine ladies who sent us dear john letters while we were serving in country.
Hope you realize you got some young men killed. Not just the guys who got the letters but their buddies who risked their lives trying to keep each othe alive.
A little advice for the girlfriend or wife who feels she must let the guy know. Don't. You just might be the reason he is paying attention and trying to get home.
Try to realize the guys in the front lines shouldn't have to worry about the ladies back home.
So suck it up and do your duty as well.
This is for my brothers in arms in conflict right now.

Excellent observation, Cowboy! What a horrible thing to do to someone, especially someone who is risking life and limb for all the rest of us.
Great advice!!!

tang:
I was dating a lady in '73 and she told me she had to break it off. When I asked why. She told me her husband was coming home from Nam.
I felt like someone had kicked me in the gonads. I had no idea she was married much less to a soldier in Nam.
That is the only time I slapped a woman. I knocked her to the ground and spit on her. She knew I was a Nam vet. She was lucky I didn't kill her.
You ought to post her name and picture in the paper as the trash she is. People like that sicken me to no end.

I have at times had a real problem with this banning thing. Most of us on this site live in democratic countries where people are judged by their fellow man and many times we see stories of how we are losing our rights in our countries and at times i feel that we are also losing some on this site. It always saddens me when we lose a member because they were banned. I still feel if one violates their TOU they should be judged by us the menmbers and have the chance for rebutal from the banned member and if found guilty I feel there should be a short suspension and then a second chance
It takes a while for me to down load the video so I thought I would address Birddog54s banning first.
Thanks CauctusAnnie for the message.

tangland- good point, I always try to look for the best in people when it comes to subjects such as this but you are right . Maybe justice is blind but I would hope people could put their biases behind them when they are trying to restrict ones right to freedom of speech.

We state right up front that we're a moderated site. If you want an absolute free-for-all, then Propeller may not be the right place for you. But I think the trade-off is a good one, and most of the community seems to agree. (BTW, I was addressing canadianrancher58's comment above, about members losing their rights on Propeller. The software bumped it down. Sigh.)

Here is a much heavier song about the same topic. It's called Sanctity of Brothers, by Unearth. A Boston metal band. http://music.propeller.com/story/2008/03/02/une...
This one goes out to BirdDog54.

Birddog54- Thank you for the video and thanks also to DebraJMSmith who made it a little easier to get all the words.
Anything that I have to say as a Canadian and also as a person who only watched the war on television may sound hollow but thank you and all your brothers in arms and I say this with saddnes in my heart for all those who did not return alive.
